Trieste, a city of 210,000 inhabitants located in the far northeast corner of Italy, is the capitol of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. Its history dates back to Roman times and the city sports an authentic Roman amphitheater to show for it. It is also a port city of international stature located on the Adriatic Sea.

The Austrian emperor Maximilian built one of his residences there on the sea, known as the Miramare Castle, when the city was still under Austrian rule.

Spiritually speaking, Trieste is very, very needy with only a very small presence in the city of evangelical believers who know and walk with the Lord. Team-Italy has sent a church planting team to this city to work together with a tiny group of believers from the Brethren tradition with the purpose of seeing this group develop into a healthy, viable, Biblically sound church that will be able to effectively communicate the gospel to the people of Trieste, to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, throughout Italy and to the world.

At the moment the Trieste Church Planting Team is composed of 3 families, the Tuckers, the Rogersons, and the Kaisers.
